Frank Heath was born in St. Joseph in 1982. He is considered an established mid-career contemporary artist and has been based in New York since 2006. He attended Central High School and studied art there, very successfully. He went on to the Kansas City Art Institute, receiving a B.F.A. in 2004, and in 2006, he received an M.F.A. from the Yale University School of Art, New Haven, CT.
Heath is an artist and filmmaker. He has had solo exhibitions at the Simone Subal Gallery, New York; Swiss Institute, New York; and Basel Statements, Basel. His work has been included in many two person and group exhibitions and screenings in many countries including, China, Germany, Spain, Russia, France, Canada, Greece, Poland, Italy and many more, from 2004 to the present of 2020. He has been a guest lecturer and visiting artist and has received several awards. His film Hollow Coin (2016) was awarded Best Documentary Short at Indilisboa and also the Deframed Audience Award (2017) Kurzfilm Hamburg. He was the editor of Donald Cried (2017) and has created several artist publications.
Heath’s art has been written about in several art publications including, Art In America in 2014. Heath is a multi facetted artist creating works with humor, a feeling of loss and looking into the future, sometimes all at the same time.
