William True Davis (December 23, 1917- February 26, 2003) was a former ambassador to Switzerland, president and chairman of the National Bank of Washington.
Mr. Davis was best known by his middle name True. He was also assistant secretary of the treasury and then executive director of the Inter- American Development Bank under Lyndon B. Johnson.
He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri and in the 1950’s was president of the St. Joseph based Anchor Serum Company, and through a series of mergers and expansions made it into one of the largest pharmaceutical companies for veterinary medicine in the country. It was from these positions that President John F Kennedy picked him as his ambassador to Switzerland in 1963.
