Emery Zon Murray ( April 13, 1910 – February 2, 1979 ) was born in St. Joseph. He was an actor who was in over 50 films and many television series. Several of the films he was in were siginifcant, such as, Rainbow Over the Rockies, 1949, Captain China, 1950 and Jungle Jim, 1955. Some of the notable tevelvision series he acted in were, Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, 1954, Rawhide, 1959, Maverick, 1957 and The Virginian, 1962.

His roles were most always in Western films as a rugged and intimidating cowboy wearing a Stetson hat tipped a touch to the side! In this photo he is with actor Roy Rogers in the film, Grand Canyon Trail, 1948. He was also on the Roy Rogers Show. He was married to Dorothy J. Sands and they had two sons that are both actors.
